Nicola, who spent 14 years living in New York and longing for home, returned to her homestead two years ago. Throughout her years spent away, the smells of home were what she found most comforting. Nicola is a self confessed home bird, having grown up in Connemara she moved on for a time but her heart remained there. When she got the opportunity to return home permanently she knew this was her chance to honour the untouched rugged beauty of home and start a design studio producing products that reflected her beloved Connemara. Nothing can transport a person to a particular place or time like a scent, so with this in mind, Nicola created a line of candles based on her childhood memories of home. The line includes scents of the sea, the bog, wild heathers and roaring fires, her Grandads sweet tobacco and freshly cut grass. Nicola individually created and hand blends each scent.
