How to Care for Your Silk Scarf

Hand wash (recommended): Wash in lukewarm water at 30°C with a small amount of gentle, pH-neutral detergent. Gently agitate, rinse well, and avoid bleach or fabric softener.

To dry: Lay the scarf on a clean white towel, roll it up and gently press out excess water. Never wring. Air dry flat or on a rail, away from direct sunlight.

Machine wash: Place the scarf inside a pillowcase, use a mild detergent, and select a gentle cycle at no more than 30°C. Do not tumble dry.

Ironing: Iron on the reverse side at low to medium heat while the scarf is still slightly damp.

Silk is a beautiful gift from nature. I was captivated by its magic during my many years in Asia, where I studied silk painting with Asian artists. My collection of hand painted silk scarves is inspired by the colour palette of the Irish landscape- the rich purples, blues, mossy greens, and shades of half-light.

I am including a little luxury I picked up in Asia, silk eye masks and pillowcases for a heavenly sleep.

Silk is the most wonderful gift for all occasions.
