A good dad is a hero. They may not wear their underpants outside their tights or have a cape but every day they quietly get on with building our worlds. It can often take us years to come to the realization of how great they are but that’s OK as it’s never too late to let them know. That’s why this pring makes a great Dad Gift Idea.
This beautiful print describes it well and I can’t imagine too many dads not being proud to receive it.
Our frames are solid wood. Frames come in two sizes – 12”x10” or 8”x6”. The unframed/mounted option is 12”x10”. All prints are from original drawings by Francis Leavey.
The text on the print reads:
When I was a tiny child, you were taller than an oak
a towering mass, a booming laugh but gentle when you spoke.
You fended off the monsters that hid under my bed
If they came out when you were about, they knew that they were dead
But time just keeps on moving and nothing stay the same
As I grew taller, you grew smaller, embarrassing and lame
You didn’t try to stop me when I turned my back on you
I was so cool and you a fool so from your arms I flew
Now we are much older and those times that we once had
they may have passed but one thing lasts
you’re my hero, you’re my dad
